Lil Kim was born Kimberly Denise Jones on the 11th of July 1974 in Brooklyn, New York. Her traumatic back story is that youth played a large role in the persona she developed throughout her career.

After her parents divorced Kim moved with her mother Ruby Jones to New Rochelle and began a period of homelessness.
