How To Install Onlyoffice (Tabbed Browsing Office) on Linux
Onlyoffice Desktop Editors is a free, open source and multiplatform office suite that has a fascinating feature: it supports tabbed browsing, that is, you can open documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in the same window and Switch between them as in the browser.
This office suite is available for Linux as a DEB and RPM package, and now also as a snap app, which makes its installation simpler in multiple distros, just like it happened recently with Skype, Spotify, and Slack.
However, the version that is available with snap is currently the candidate version, that is, a preliminary version. And in Onlyoffice they are looking for users to help test the applications.
Install Onlyoffice
To install the snap package in Ubuntu and other distros you just have to open a terminal and write:
sudo snap install --candidate onlyoffice-desktopeditors
That snap package has now been tested on Ubuntu 16.04, Solus OS, and Fedora 27. And now the development team wants to extend that set of tests further.
So if you use a snaps compatible distro, such as Linux Mint, Manjaro, Debian, Arch Linux, OpenSUSE or Solus, and you want to take a look at a more than interesting office suite, here is one.
